8th Annual E Malama I Ke Kai Festival
The Mālama Āina Foundation partnered with the Native Hawaiian Science and Engineering Mentoring Program from UH and participated in the 8th Annual E Malama I Ke Kai Festival held on June 3. The festival is put on by Punana Leo O Kawaihao and focuses on ocean awareness and education. There were a total of 19 booths and some of the exhibitors included the Oceanic Institute, the NOAA National Weather Service, and the City & County Honolulu Department of Environmental Services. There also was lots of ono food, great music, games for the keiki, drawings for free stuff, and various t-shirts and other items for sale.
